Munich

Enjoy a shopping tour from Maximilianstrasse to Theatinerstrasse, take a stroll through the Hofgarten (Royal Garden) or treat yourself to an ice cream at the coffee house Tambosi. Experience original beer garden flair at the Chinesischer Turm (Chinese Tower), admire the surfers on the Eisbach river and take a selfie in front of the classical backdrop of the Königsplatz (Royal Square). There are endless opportunities to have the perfect day in Munich. The city is one of the most significant cultural centres in Germany. Every turn you take there are historical buildings. There’s the residence of the Bavarian dukes with its huge museum complex, the Nymphenburg Palace, the city hall with its enchanting chimes, the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), or that of St. Peter, whose 306 steps lead up to one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city. One thing you should definitely add to your to-do list while in the city is an excursion to the food market called Viktualienmarkt. From there, you can easily reach the most important hotspots and treat yourself to a typical Bavarian delicacy while you’re at it. A little tip in case of bad weather: The tramline no. 19 is the nostalgic alternative to a sightseeing tour in a double-decker bus.
