VISCOSE - ARTIFICIAL SILK WITH A NATURAL ORIGIN

Viscose is a versatile fabric that is often referred to as artificial silk and, like real silk, has many special properties: from its soft feel and breathability to care tips - we will show you what makes this material so special and how you can maintain your high-quality viscose styles for a long time.

WASHING VISCOSE

Unlike real silk, viscose can be machine washed without hesitation. There are a few things to keep in mind to protect the fibers: Wash on a delicates cycle at a lower spin speed, no higher than 40°C, and use liquid detergent rather than powder, which can leave residue and dull the fabric. Also, do not overfill your washing machine and always wash garments with zippers or even Velcro separately to protect the rayon and extend its life.

DRYING VISCOSE

Because viscose tends to wrinkle, it is best not to put it in the dryer. The high temperatures also damage the fibers and make them porous. You should also avoid placing rayon on the radiator to dry. Drying in the fresh air on a hanger or clothes horse is gentler.

IRONING VISCOSE

To get viscose clothing wrinkle-free, you can iron it, but not too hot! It is best to iron the textiles while they are still slightly damp or place a damp cloth over them - this helps to distribute the heat evenly and protect the delicate fabric.

HELP WITH SHRUNKEN VISCOSE

What if it happens? Wash it too hot and your beloved rayon piece has shrunk! Before you part with it, try this trick, which is also recommended for shrunken wool: Wash the garment again or soak it in a bath of mild baby shampoo and then pull it back into shape while it is still wet.

COMMA INSPIRES

Because of its elegant look, woven viscose is a popular fabric for elegant styles, especially blouses and dresses: a maxi dress in pure viscose flatters the silhouette and is comfortable to wear even on hot summer days. Styles in this fiber tend to have a light, carefree feel, making them versatile partners.
To give your look some tension, mix the pieces with other fabrics: a chunky knit sweater, a sturdy canvas, or a bold linen texture provide a great contrast to the smooth viscose.

An overview of all the pros of viscose:

The material is highly absorbent and moisture-regulating

It impresses with its fine, shiny and uniform appearance

The smooth texture of the viscose feels pleasant against the skin

It also has breathable and cooling properties and is even allergy-friendly
